Rosalind will join Psychologist, Rob Evans Ed.D and Denise Clark Pope from Stanford Graduate School of Education and Challenge Success at the Nueva School’s 2023 Innovative Learning Conference (ILC).

How do we support young people to pursue their academic and creative purpose, develop emotional and intellectual resilience, and support their mental health? What truly motivates young people, and what makes them turn away from us? How do we create SEL programs where students can see the connection and relevance between the program content and their lives?

Combining the latest understanding of adolescent development, Rosalind will show participants how to identify assumptions that can lead to miscommunications between young people and adults, including those that often contribute to the pitfalls of many SEL programs. From there, she’ll show how to transform these miscommunication moments so that we can have more positive interactions with young people, and share what young people really want from SEL programs to keep them credible and relevant.
