Panamanian Association of Internationally Minded Schools (PAIS) - Virtual Presentation

In this virtual webinar Rosalind Wiseman will share her latest research and strategies to create cultures of belonging in international schools.

Together we will strengthen our collective understanding, compassion, and capacity to work with this generation of students. They need our wisdom, and we must understand the most effective and relevant way to reach them for our collective good. The stakes are high. No matter how much technology advances, how we manage ourselves in groups and create a sense of belonging for students, staff, faculty, administrators, and parents is the essential component to any thriving school.

Participants will learn more about:

  • Understanding the most recent research on how the drive for status and “earned prestige” drives motivation

  • Identifying the key components to “wise” feedback

  • Defining the five questions teachers need to ask their students to create a classroom of belonging

  • Understanding the protector, enforcer, and mentor mindset

  • Teacher scripts to help avoid power struggles and miscommunication

  • Case studies from international schools with lessons learned and best practices

  • Explore the social dynamics of bystanding on peer to peer harassment and demonstrate intervention strategies
