CREW Network - Portland, OR

Rosalind will present to female leaders at the CREW Network’s 2025 Spring Leadership Summit on Beyond Mean Girls: Building Leadership Through Challenge, Conflict, and Courageous Discomfort.

Despite the efforts to empower women in the workplace, many still struggle with deeply ingrained social conditioning from adolescence. Without realizing it, we may find it hard to advocate for ourselves, communicate assertively, or face difficult conversations for fear of seeming uncooperative or mean. Until we confront this conditioning, we risk undermining our own success and ability to uplift one another. By better understanding this conditioning as well as emotional regulation, emotional hijacking, and the role of boundaries—we can break these patterns and unlock our full potential as leaders. Rosalind will discuss how to employ leadership strategies to better increase group cohesion & effectiveness, manage conflict, and turn discomfort into meaningful, productive conversations.

Takeaways:

  • Redefining the “rules” around anger and reframing them as a powerful tool in handling difficult conversations

  • Developing the skills to advocate for yourself and negotiate with confidence

  • Navigating group dynamics when they risk derailing team effectiveness

  • Embracing your authority and stepping into leadership roles with confidence and generosity

  • Building skills for giving & receiving constructive feedback
