Jackson Katz has done a service for me and my family who are reading this with their children and partner's. We so need articulate, courageous men illuminating the truth like this. I have no problem with the length given the massive scope of the problem we face. I would do civil disobedience and destroy Monster Misogynist's cd's wherever i see them. I may get in trouble, but i have had enough of such celebrated hate. I have nothing to lose and what i have suffered and so many more have suffered even beyond that calls for strong action.

Extremely well written. i came searching for this very debate, though my dilemma was a personal one. how to resolve being floored by his unparalleled lyrical craftsmanship on the one hand, and the utterly loathsome content of some of his lyrics on the other. I find some of his, albeit limited, non-offensive lyrics to be the most inspiring and stimulating ever, and i respect him immensely for that intelligence. But, I cant let myself ignore all that is said under the cloak of Slim Shady. 'Its a joke' or 'He is creating fictional characters' or 'Separate the truth from entertainment' no longer cuts it for me, when 18 out of 20 tracks of his album talk about that stuff only. I wish he had ignored 'white america' and its desire to see him come back as slim shady. 'Beautiful' and 'Deja Vu' are the only songs I liked in the album.

Anyhow, superbly written piece.

I agree with this but just one thing. Its waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy too long. I would have gotten it without having to give open heart surgery to the entire album.
