Hello Everyone!

I cannot tell you how elated I am that you are reading this post because it means that months of site maps, wire frames, conference calls, and brainstorming meetings have finally coming to fruition! The new and improved www.rosalindwiseman.com is now up and running!

Where It All Began

About a year ago Rosalind and I began seriously discussing how her work would be sustained in both the near and distant future. The success of her books, curriculum, and Mean Girls, have given her the great honor of being able to speak to tens of thousands of students, parents, and educators across the country and the world for nearly fifteen years. But even with her ability to get several hundred bodies to sit in a room and hear her speak almost anywhere she’s visited, we realized that our web presence was not nearly robust enough to harness the power of the many people who follow and support her work. More importantly, we didn’t have the capacity to give back to you with a central source for frequently updated content and resources related to Rosalind’s bedrock belief, that each person has the responsibility to treat themselves and others with dignity.

What’s New?

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to our brand new site. We want our visitors to be able to engage with Rosalind in a dialogue about the issues surrounding kids that we feel passionate about, and to that end we’re featuring Rosalind’s popular webisode series, “Rosalind’s Inbox” as well as her blog. Our resources for educators have been revised and expanded, with more detailed information about the Owning Up Training Institute and Rosalind’s popular curriculum of the same name. The educator forums are also a great places for teachers, administrators, and counselors to share their thoughts, struggles, and triumphs and learn from one another’s expertise as well as from our Owning Up educators. We’ve updated all of our press materials event guides, and added information about how to other speakers we respect for engagements as well.  In addition to a host of video and blog commentary from Rosalind you’ll be able to hear from many of her colleagues from around the country and the world, myself included. Our bloggers are educators, parents, professionals, and even teens, all of whom have a unique voice and perspective on issues relating to raising ethical children and the influence of our larger culture.

A Little Word About Me

I have worked with Rosalind as a publicist, editor, and friend for more than four years. I’ve worked hand in hand with our amazing web design team (shout out to Serendipity Creative in Arlington, VA) to make Rosalind’s website a resource that you can come back to time and again for quality content. I too am incredibly inspired by her social mission and solution-oriented approach. There is never a day that goes by that I am not deeply grateful to work towards advancing not only Rosalind’s books her underlying paradigm that teaches everyone to speak their truth and stand up against injustice. Her publications may be directed at helping teenagers navigate their social experiences, but it’s a salient message for adults as well.  I look forward to sharing with you the ways in which these ideologies make me think critically about the world we live in, as well as give you insight on how our company, RPW Inc., will continue to grow and change.

I welcome your feedback and suggestions—constructive criticism helps us make this site a better experience for you. And if you’re interested in sharing something with this community then I encourage you to email me. We’ll be looking to expand our pool of guest bloggers and if you have something valuable to share we’d love to hear from you.

Thank you for your support as we continue to expand our online presence.

Emily
